This morning we reluctantly left Marion Bay to begin the Journey back towards Victoria. We stopped at Port Victoria (pardon the pun!) which is where many of the tall ships arrived to take on grain to take overseas. It also has a very odd general store at the wharf which sells take away, ice cream and strangely Alpaca goods.

Just off Port Victoria is a small island which was used to research the myxomatosis virus to kill rabbits.
The overnight stop was the small town of Arthurton who have an overnight stop available for caravanners. We were not sure what to make out of the rather odd location between the catholic church and the cemetery, but at least we did not have any problems with noisy neighbours. A lady came to play the church organ so we even had some free entertainment before enjoying a roast cooked in the BBQ and Bread and Butter Pudding for dessert. Yum!

As my blog readers would have noticed by now, I love finding and photographing quirky things and we struck a couple during our evening stroll around the town. I noticed an old windmill next to an old toilet in beautiful light and took some photos. Chatting to a neighbour it turns out is was part of a “museum” of “stuff” collected by an old man who used to live there. Unfortunately he passed away three years ago and the property was recently sold so these may be among the last photos of one of his displays. We also found an unusual “bike lane” in another part of the town.
