About

Welcome and thank you for visiting!

My name is Sabine Benthien and I am a photographer and digital artist as well as a keen traveler. I formed Nomadic Dreamtime Photography in 2015 to follow my passion for creating beautiful images including portraits, lifestyle photography and event coverage.  I love elegant and timeless portraits of people and pets as well as photographing events and weddings. I spend a lot of time traveling and creating landscape and nature images from across Australia.

My husband and I live on a rural property with two very spoilt dogs, a cat, two  sheep and our beautiful arabian warmblood horses.

Business Approach

Our approach to clients of Nomadic Dreamtime Photography is straight forward and based on the following principles:

  • we will deliver exceptional and personalised service to our customers
  • professional techniques create gorgeous images regardless of age, body type, disadvantage or disability
  • relaxed sessions make people comfortable in front of the camera, no one likes an old fashioned stiff upper lip portrait!
  • all sessions include at least one customer discovery conversation so that your images match your expectation
  • customers expect a professional service which means we are courteous and punctual and deliver beautiful images within agreed timelines
  • paperwork sucks so lets use digital solutions to make life easy
  • let’s have fun while taking your photos!

I strongly believe that professional portraits should be printed and enjoyed.  My portraits are elegant and timeless making them worthy of being displayed in your home for many years or being treasured to become valued memories in years to come.

Nomadic Dreamtime Photography has carefully designed business procedures to ensure that our clients receive safe, prompt and efficient service. We keep your precious images backed up at all times until completion, have public liability ensurance and Sabine has a current Working with Children check.

My Background

The travel and photography bug bit me in my early teens, but this remained a hobby due to a long career in the Victorian Public Sector. My initial role was as a disability carer and I inadvertently worked my way up to analyst and senior manager. At the moment we are busy implementing the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the transfer of disability accommodation services to non-government providers.

“Unkind people” including my partner accuse me of being a perfectionist who is addicted to constantly learning new skills. I am about to graduate from a Diploma of Professional Photography and have taken countless short courses in photography, posing, portraiture, lighting and image processing using professional Adobe software.

We are keen caravanners and whenever as there is an an opportunity to hook up the caravan we are off to explore another part of this beautiful country. When we are on the road I write a travel blog about our adventures and provide information on travel photography for fellow travelers. You can follow our travels on my photographic blog “Tales of a Blonde Nomad”.
