NSW Blue Mountains – Hartley Historic Village

Hartley Village is not far out of Lithgow on the road to Katoomba. Like Hill End, it is managed by the National Parks and Wildlife services who are doing a great job looking after this collection of 17 historic buildings dating from 1837 onwards. There are several walks, a gallery and a coffee shop and the church and grounds can be hired for weddings and other events. The garage was being used for a wedding reception when we were there, the camouflaged portaloos tickled my warped sense of humour! There is also some upmarket accommodation in the old presbytery.
