Central NSW – Mirrool Hotel Campsite

Mirrool Hotel

Forbes was too far to comfortably drive in a single day so we had an overnight stop outside of the Mirrool Hotel. This tiny town just off the Newell highway is trying to attract the grey nomads and allows free camping next to the hotel. Not the most inspiring location but the facilities were good and we enjoyed a rare hot shower. Thanks Mirrool! The Town’s main claim to fame seemed to be the annual silo kick where participants try to kick a football over the large silos next to the railway line. Judging by the honour board the silos won nearly as often as the participants!
